NOVATO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT       July 2004 to June 2014

Principal, Novato High School /Marin School of the Arts

Planned, organized and implemented comprehensive high school programs. Tasks required  include hiring staff, training new assistant principals, developed staff handbook/process and procedure, conducted staff meetings, worked collaboratively with district personnel, facilitated opening and closing procedures and maintained a clean and safe environment for teaching and learning.       

SACRAMENTO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT         Nov 2002 to June 2004

Vice Principal, C.K. McClatchy High School

In charge of Curriculum and Instruction.  Provide leadership in the areas of instruction.  Develop the master schedule for a school of 2500 students.  Create Small Learning Communities to support academics in specialized areas of instruction involving core subject areas.  Promote instructional excellence through Stachowski methodologies in regards to lesson design and implementation, observational strategies key to student achievement, and evaluation techniques that enhance and strengthen good teaching practices.

Principal, McKay High School

Provide direction of the instructional program and school facilities operation.  Direct and supervise 80 faculty members and a student body of 2200 students.  Promote and encourage opportunities for recognition development and leadership among student and colleagues.  
Established and consistently maintain a conducive learning environment with responsibility for increased parent participation.  Work cooperatively with students, parent, community, faculty and staff to enhance academic expectations for all students.


LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT 1985 - 1995

Principal, San Pedro High School (1994 - 1995)

Oversaw a large student body, faculty and administrative support staff as well as all areas of facility operations and academic programming.  Supervised and evaluated certified personnel including clerical, custodial, teachers aides, teacher assistants, school police, plant manager, student government coordinator, Youth Service Coordinator and the athletic director.  Administrated all maintenance of buildings and grounds and met with maintenance management to assure a clean and positive learning environment.
